- Create a Preset: Create a new Howler Window (File->New, Apple-N), and pick a name for the preset. Then, set the hours, minutes and seconds, and finally any options, including custom sounds and finishing behavior. Once the Howler reflects the settings you want, go to the Presets menu and navigate into the "Save Howler to Preset" menu item. Finally, select a Preset number; any existing preset on this number will be replaced by the new one. When the Preset is saved, the display text will turn blue.
- Load a Preset: You may load a saved Preset by navigating to the Presets menu and selecting your desired Preset. The Preset will load in a new Howler Window, at its saved window position.
- Save and Load Presets using Keyboard Commands: Presets may be saved/loaded quickly by using keyboard commands. Save a Preset by holding control and pressing the Preset number. Load it by holding Apple and pressing the number. These shortcuts are also displayed in the Presets Menu.
- Linked Presets (Boxing Timer): Using finishing options, one Preset can be linked to another. In this way, it is possible to create a "boxing timer" that will loop through several durations. The simplest example is to save a Howler to Preset ⌘4 that starts Preset ⌘5 when finished, and set Preset ⌘5 to start Preset ⌘4 when finished.
